PE Coated Tissue

Here at Stratton Food Hall we have decided to change the way in which we serve food, in our attempt to be more environmentally aware.

The first way that we are tackling this is to change any plastics for compostable or biodegradable solutions.  Food contamination is a big issue for recycled plastics, so I'm sure you can appreciate what an issue this creates for a food outlet.  To replace plastics with a compostable solution where food contamination is not an issue is an absolute no-brainer!

Marine pollution is a very important topic to many people at the moment, us included.  Compostable packaging does not address this issue.  Indeed, we're well aware that compostable packaging needs to be commercially composted and is not suitable for home composting.  If people litter with it, it will still not break down in the ocean.  We are working with other local companies to ensure that the packaging ends up where it needs to in order to be an effective solution.

The way in which Stratton Food Hall is dealing with marine pollution is in the introduction of reusable packaging.  People will be able to buy containers from us for their Stratton orders, and we will be happy to deduct the cost of any single use packaging from their order each time that their reusable packaging is brought into the store to use.
